The studio behind 2019’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has just released the surprising news that a massive update is headed to the game next week. Update 1.5 will bring new cosmetic packs and two multiplayer game modes to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
The game was developed by ArtPlay, an indie developer led by former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the product of one of the most successful Kickstarter projects in gaming history. They did it through a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than 5.5 million dollars, it was 11 times more than the original projection, and this retro platformer has since sold over 2 million copies. The game is set in 18th-century England, the game lets you play as the orphaned Miriam as she battles through a demon-infested castle to cleanse of the curse that the alchemist put on her.
The game reminded us so much of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night due to its Metroidvania aspects and 2.5 Dimension graphics. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received different updates throughout the 5 years since its launch. Some updates included new playable characters such as his predecessor Bloodstained: Cursed of the Moon 1 and 2 added more content for the single-player experience. The developer ArtPlay roadmap shows that one of the biggest updates is yet to be released and is just around the corner. Update 1.5 will launch May 9th for PC, Xbox, Playstation, and for Nintendo Switch the update will come May 16th. The final free content update will feature two new multiplayer modes and free cosmetic packs that feature multiple unique clothing items, and weapons and each is upgradeable
